Who we are:
BBYO is an international non-profit Jewish Youth Group that has been around since 1924. Across 42 countries, in over 600 chapters, there are over 80,000 Jewish teens that are a part of BBYO, which used to be the youth wing of Bnai Brith. BBYO is split into two separate orders: AZA and BBG, for boys and girls respectively.
Simon Wiesenthal AZA #2524 (or SiWi for short), named after the famous Nazi hunter Simon Wiesenthal, is our chapter. SiWi was formed in 2005 by Dan Smolkin and Aaron Szteinbaum, made to replace the old Palo Alto chapter Jack Benny AZA #1922 that was shut down in 2001. The area SiWi covers includes the cities of Palo Alto and Menlo Park. Any boy in the area is allowed to join after July 1 during the summer going into their 8th grade year.
SiWi is one chapter that is part of a larger region, Central Region West #45 (CRW). CRW encompasses all AZA and BBG chapters in Northern California, particularly the Bay Area. It is run by a regional board, having positions for both AZA and BBG. Throughout the year there will be events for the whole region.

What we do:
SiWi has weekly chapter events to build community and business meetings to improve our chapter. The events could range from any event planned by an ordinary member, to fundraisers planned by our Gizbor (Chapter Treasurer), to overnights like Inductions and AIT (Aleph in Training) overnight, to chapter board elections, and much more. Business meetings are run by our Godol (Chapter President), in which we present motions to better our chapter's infrastructure.
